NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is scrambling to see if anyone can do better than his inconsistent group of kickers.
About 25 kicking hopefuls were among the students who showed up for tryouts open for every position Thursday. Stoops says none of them will be playing for the seventh-ranked Sooners this season.
Last season, Jimmy Stevens, walk-on Patrick O'Hara and Tress Way were a combined 18-for-28 on field goals. Key misses left Oklahoma short in close losses against BYU, Texas and Nebraska.
Oklahoma does have Cameron Kenney on the roster.
